Michael and Consuelo Mockerman are finalizing their financial support and plans for their mission work in Brazil.  Currently they are planning to depart for Brazil by the end of September.  When they get close to their departure date we will be having a "Sending Service" for them.  In the meantime, commitment cards are available on the missions bulletin.  Currently they have raised over $17,000 in one-time gifts (they need $21,000) and they are over 50% in monthly support (they need over $3,000 a month.)

Since the Mockerman's are from Central, this gives Central a great opportunity for a paradigmatic shift in their missions efforts that have been status quo for years.  In the past Central has dispersed their missions funds with a "shotgun approach", where many missions are supported with few funds for each.  This approach does not build relationships between the missionaries and the church.  It also doesn't provide the missionaries with the accountability that is needed as well.  With the Mockerman's the approach can be changed as Central can continue it's strong relationship with the Mockerman's.
