CIY NEWS UPDATE!

This year we will be attending the Christ in Youth Summer Conference that will be located on the campus of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.

The conference itself goes from July 14th – 18th.

We will need to leave on Sunday, July 13th in order to get there on time for registration which goes from 12:00 - 5:00PM on the 14th. We will leave Carbondale on Saturday, July 19th first thing in the morning and drive to St Louis, Mo. and spend the rest of the day at Six Flags. We will get back to the church on the evening of July 20th. I will get you a more detailed itinerary at a later date. The cost will be $330.That includes registration (which is $260 by itself) $50 to help with gas, and $20 for the ticket to Six Flags in St Louis, Mo.

In order to hold your spot you will need to give a $50 deposit and hand in your CIY Discipline, Liability, and Medical Release Form as well as the Central Christian Church Youth Ministry Liability and Medical Release Form. The due date for the deposit and the two forms will be Sunday, February 17th. These forms have been sent out in a students letter to all of the high school or soon to be high school students. If you need extra copies please contact Shaun.

We will be fundraising to help parents and students with the financial burden of this trip.We do not want anyone to stay home from this conference solely because of finances.Already in the works are: a Spaghetti Dinner / Servant Auction (Feb 24th), a Bowl-A-Thon, a Sponsor-A-Student campaign, a parking fundraiser during Territory Days, and a Parents Night Out where kids can be dropped off at the church and students and a few adults will baby-sit for a few hours giving couples with kids a chance to spend some time alone. It will take a lot of time and effort to pull off all of these fundraisers, but those students that are involved with these will benefit from proceeds. Keep an eye on the student calendar for the dates of upcoming fundraisers.

This will be an awesome opportunity to grow closer to God, learn, worship, make new friends, strengthen friendships you already have, and of course have a good time.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Shaun.
